At 1,000 yards, a 10 mph full-value wind pushes a .308 match bullet roughly 100 inches off line. Your drop chart already knows the elevation. Nothing printed on a card can tell you what the wind is doing right now, at your position, during this string. That number has to be measured.

The Gunship Grey generation
A full new generation in dark gunmetal, rolling out progressively. The Mini All-in-One combines wind and atmosphere in a single unit. A revamped LoRa network. And the Calypso Handheld, the first handheld to read wind and full atmosphere with zero moving parts.
Spinning cups average the past.
Ultrasonic reads the present.
A plastic wheel has mass. It lags on the gust, coasts on the lull, and reports air that already left. Ultrasonic has no rotor to lag and no bearing to die.
Sound crosses a fixed gap
Wind changes how long the pulse takes to get across. That time difference is your wind speed and direction, measured directly. Four transducers, one reading per second.
No moving parts
Dust and cold kill turbines through the bearing; there is no bearing here. 5° to 140°F. IPX8, independently certified after 30 minutes under 33 feet of water.
Open by design
Every unit speaks plain BLE. The reading goes wherever you point it: the free app, Strelok Pro, a Garmin on your wrist.

Ultrasonic Portable Mini Wind Meter

Ultrasonic Portable Mini AB
The pocket ultrasonic built to feed Applied Ballistics devices directly. Discontinued, not replaced. Supported for life.
Ultrasonic Portable Solar
Self-charging: up to 60 days on daylight alone, over a year asleep. Stake it and stop thinking about the battery.
WeatherDot
Temperature, humidity and pressure at your position, so the solver corrects from the air the bullet actually flies through.

Read the wind
where the bullet flies
The wind at your muzzle and the wind at 800 yards are two different reports, and only one of them decides your impact. The LoRa system puts an ultrasonic sensor downrange on a tripod and streams live speed and direction back to your position over a link good to nearly 2 miles. Up to three units per receiver, so you can read conditions at two or three points along the flight path at once.
Straight talk: match rules don't allow sensors downrange, and the clock wouldn't leave you time anyway. This is a training instrument. Put a unit at 400 and another at 800, make your call off the grass and the mirage the way you would on the clock, then check yourself against the number. A season of that and you carry a calibrated eye into every stage.
